A New Identification Condition for Recursive Models With Correlated Errors

چکیده
To avoid devoting research resources toward a hopeless cause (and to avoid ignoring productive research avenues out of an unfounded fear of underidentification), researchers need a way to quickly evaluate a model's identification status before data are collected. Furthermore, because models are often altered in the course of research (Joreskog, 1993), researchers need a technique that helps them understand the impact of potential structural changes on the identification status of the model, (p. 359)

A New Identi cation Condition for Recursive Models with Correlated Errors
This paper establishes a new criterion for the identi cation of recursive linear models in which some errors are correlated. We show that identi cation is ensured as long as error correlation does not exist between a cause and its direct e ect; no restrictions are imposed on errors associated with indirect causes.
متن کاملIdentification and Likelihood Inference for Recursive Linear Models with Correlated Errors
In recursive linear models, the multivariate normal joint distribution of all variables exhibits a dependence structure induced by recursive systems of linear structural equations. Such models appear in particular in seemingly unrelated regressions, structural equation modelling, simultaneous equation systems, and in Gaussian graphical modelling. We show that recursive linear models that are ‘b...
متن کاملComputing Maximum Likelihood Estimates in Recursive Linear Models with Correlated Errors
In recursive linear models, the multivariate normal joint distribution of all variables exhibits a dependence structure induced by a recursive (or acyclic) system of linear structural equations. These linear models have a long tradition and appear in seemingly unrelated regressions, structural equation modelling, and approaches to causal inference. They are also related to Gaussian graphical mo...
متن کاملThe Application of Recursive Mixed Models for Estimating Genetic and Phenotypic Relationships between Calving Difficulty and Lactation Curve Traits in Iranian Holsteins: A Comparison with Standard Mixed Models
In the present study, records on 22872 first-parity Holsteins collected from 131 herds by the Animal Breeding and Improvement Center of Iran from 1995 to 2014 were considered to estimate genetic and phenotypic relationships between calving difficulty (CD) and the lactation curve traits, including initial milk yield (Ap), ascending (Bp) and descending (Cp) slope of the lactation curves, peak mil...
متن کاملRecursive Identification for Dynamic Linear Systems from Noisy Input-Output Measurements
Errors-in-variables (EIV) model is a kind of model with not only noisy output but also noisy input measurements, which can be used for systemmodeling in many engineering applications. However, the identification for EIVmodel is much complicated due to the input noises. This paper focuses on the adaptive identification problem of real-time EIV models. Some derivation errors in an accuracy resear...
